Gender Diversity Issues in the new normal era in Japan

・Globally, gender equality is a continuous challenge, however, it still looks like a gender discrimination issues in Japan.

・Media, Ads and TV shows still show women in subservient roles. In the West, the last Jedi is female and the new 007 is black and female. Japan is a way behind.

・Still many Japanese companies seem to see certain admin jobs as better suited for women as they think women have more meticulous attention. But such as concept is already biased.

・% of women graduated from university is higher than other developed countries yet % of women in leadership roles is much less than any other countries.

・Japanese women still seem to be under a lot of social/mental pressure to be cute and supporting men.

・50% of people/consumers are women yet many companies producing/designing products have totally male-dominant management teams.

・In the West, there is a concept of Ally-ship, that is, women to have male colleagues/bosses as allies for their career progression.

・Japanese women still fear working like a manager. Maybe Japanese women fear even living their own life. Due to their upbringing, many Japanese women are still self-sabotaged.

・Women need to step up more for themselves. In human history, oppressed minority can never win what they want from the privileged majority unless they stand up and fight for their rights.

・If the only thing Japan women can count on for their success is to have a nice Japanese male boss, the possibility of their success is quite slim.

・Traditionally in Japan, women were told to be cute and foreigners were told to say sorry with smile.

・The encouraging voice of support for women from the office should be louder than the discouraging voice of the mothers and the mothers-in-law.
